Softball Recap: Vernonia Comes Up Short

Vernonia was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their tenth straight defeat. They came up short against the Valley Catholic Valiants, falling 26-4.

Momi Leininger made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of Julia Busch, who went 1-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.

Vernonia's loss dropped their record down to 3-17. As for Valley Catholic, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-11.

Vernonia does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Valley Catholic, they will square off against Neah-Kah-Nie at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
