Basketball Game Preview: Providence Christian Academy Griffins vs. Aquinas Academy Crusaders

The Providence Christian Academy Griffins will face off against the Aquinas Academy Crusaders on Friday.

It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 80-42, which was the final score in Providence Christian Academy's tilt against Tome on Tuesday. The defeat continues a trend for the Griffins in their matchups with the Titans: they've now lost six in a row.

Despite the loss, Providence Christian Academy got top-tier performance from Bryce Unruh, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds. Unruh is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last 39 games he's played dating back to last season. Peyton Riess was another key player, putting up seven points and seven boards.

Meanwhile, Aquinas Academy was able to grind out a solid win over Avon Grove Charter on Tuesday, taking the game 60-48. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Crusaders.

Aquinas Academy's victory bumped their record up to 7-4. As for Providence Christian Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-12.

Providence Christian Academy ended up a good deal behind Aquinas Academy in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, losing 61-47.
