Baseball Recap: North Has No Trouble Against Rhodes

North came out on top against Rhodes on Saturday thanks in part to the team's impressive ten-run fifth inning. The Rangers blew past the Rams 15-1. The result was nothing new for the Rangers, who have now won three matches by ten runs or more so far this season.

Mitchell Sapertein looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched.

At the plate, North got a massive performance out of Braylon Rolf, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Rolf has become a key player for the Rangers: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 2-3 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Vinny Marsico, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI and two runs.

North always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .564. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Rhodes only posted an OBP of .211.

North has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.3 runs over those games. Having lost for the first time this season, Rhodes fell to 8-1.

North wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 12-2 defeat against Hawken on the 19th. As for Rhodes, they have also already played their next match, a 9-6 win against Tournament Opponent on the 19th.
