Volleyball Recap: Amanda-Clearcreek Comes Up Short

Amanda-Clearcreek was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 3-0 to the Hamilton Township Rangers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Rangers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-2 back in September.

The 3-0 score doesn't really reflect how close the match was: every set was decided by three points or less. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 25-22, 25-23.

Amanda-Clearcreek's offense was headlined by Olivia Davis and Gavynn Sowers, who picked up six kills apiece. Davis really made an impact as she also led the team in assists with nine.

Amanda-Clearcreek's defeat dropped their record down to 7-14. As for Hamilton Township, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Amanda-Clearcreek will challenge rival Logan Elm at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Hamilton Township is set to face off against their familiar foe Bloom-Carroll at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
