It was a proper cat-fight when Huron duked it out with Crestview on Wednesday. The Tigers came out on top in a nail-biter against the Cougars, sneaking past 6-5. The Tigers haven't had any issues with the Cougars recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.
Madison Holeman spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and one unearned) runs on six hits.
On the hitting side, Adelyn VanSickle and Rylie Dehn did most of the damage at the plate: VanSickle went 3-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run, while Dehn went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double. That's the most hits VanSickle has posted since back in March. Lucy Hinners was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.
Huron's win bumped their record up to 11-7. As for Crestview, their defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-9.
Looking ahead, Huron will welcome Margaretta at 4:45 p.m. on Friday. The Tigers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Polar Bears have averaged an impressive 10.9 runs per game this season. As for Crestview, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 9-4 victory against Western Reserve on the 14th.
