Drury put another one in the bag on Monday to keep their perfect season alive. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the McCann Tech Hornets a 10-0 shutout. For the Blue Devils, this counts as revenge for the 3-2 victory the Hornets walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2024.

The team relied heavily on Brayden Durant, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was Lucas Hamilton, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.

Drury pushed their record up to 4-0 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.2 runs on average over those games. As for McCann Tech, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 1-3.

Coincidentally, Drury and McCann Tech will both be playing Franklin County Tech the next time they take the field. The Blue Devils will host the Eagles at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, while the Hornets will host them at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
