Laguna Beach came tearing into Friday's match with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.8 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They never let the University Trojans get on the board and left with a 7-0 victory. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 9-0 on Wednesday.

Becker Sybirski was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out eight over four innings pitched. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in ten consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI. That's the most doubles he has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, Parker Moore was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

Laguna Beach was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .423. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as University only posted a batting average of .167.

Laguna Beach's record is now 23-3. As for University, their loss was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 12-14.

Coming up, Laguna Beach will head out to face off against Pacifica Christian at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Breakers 1.4, the Tritons 4.1) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for University, they will host Kennedy at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
