Basketball Recap: San Juan Comes Up Short

San Juan was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 12th straight loss. They were dealt a 73-30 defeat at the hands of the Woodland Christian Cardinals. The Spartans were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 38-11.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Woodland Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Malakai Baker, who went 8-for-16 en route to 23 points along with six rebounds and five steals. That's the most steals Baker has posted since back in December of 2024. Tanner Thomas was another key player, going 7-for-12 on his way to 18 points in addition to six boards and three steals.

San Juan's loss dropped their record down to 2-23. As for Woodland Christian, the win was the 12th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 21-5.

San Juan wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 52-45 defeat against Golden Sierra on the 11th. As for Woodland Christian, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 97-30 victory against Rio Vista on the 11th.
