Softball Game Preview: Anderson Cubs vs. University Prep Panthers

Anderson hasn't had much luck against University Prep recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Cubs are taking a road trip to take on the Panthers at 4:30 p.m. Anderson has given up an average of 17.5 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Anderson is headed into Tuesday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their eighth straight game last Friday. They lost 12-2 to Central Valley.

Kolbee Wimmer spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered six earned (and six unearned) runs on ten hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Anderson saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Dominique Crandall, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. That double was Crandall's first of the season.

Meanwhile, University Prep came up short against Hillsdale on Friday and fell 5-2. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

University Prep's defeat dropped their record down to 6-8-1. As for Anderson, their loss dropped their record down to 1-11.

Anderson might still be hurting after the 14-0 defeat they got from University Prep when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can the Cubs avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
