Central Cambria came tearing into Thursday's contest with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They put the hurt on the West Shamokin Wolves with a sharp 14-8 win.

JD Brouse was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit over four innings pitched. He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Central Cambria is 2-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 8-10 otherwise. Brouse was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two runs. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April.

In other batting news, Ben Howard was a standout: he went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Rocco Barra, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with four RBI and two runs.

Central Cambria's record is now 10-11. As for West Shamokin, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-9.

As of now, neither Central Cambria nor the Wolves have any future games scheduled.
