Recap: Kingston Cougars vs. Bismarck Indians
If the Kingston Cougars were feeling good off their 53-20 takedown of the Crystal City Hornets last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Kingston was outmatched by Bismarck on the road and fell 60-15. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Kingston has scored all season.
Bismarck's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ashley Hawkins led the charge by scoring 16 points along with two blocks. Hawkins has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last six times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Alyssa Brake, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds.
Kingston has not been sharp recently, as they've lost 12 of their last 13 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-17 record this season. As for Bismarck, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 13-3.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Kingston and Valley will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 29th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Valley is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak. As for Bismarck, they will head out on the road to challenge Arcadia Valley at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in Arcadia Valley's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last four contests.
