Football Recap: Compass Academy Piles Up the Points Against Alpine

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Compass Academy). They blew past the Alpine Bucks 52-3 on Thursday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.

Compass Academy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Valois Terecero out in front who rushed for 129 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.6 yards per carry. Ryian Farris got in on the action as well, returning a kick for a touchdown.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Compass Academy was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 293 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in November of 2024.

Special teams also deserves some recognition, posting 16 points in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Farris, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.

The victory was the third in a row for Compass Academy, bringing their record up to 6-1. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 35.3 points over those games. As for Alpine, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-6.

Compass Academy and Alpine will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next matchups. The next time the Cougars see the field they'll take on Crane at 7:00 p.m. on the 23rd. As for Alpine, their break will end when they face Anthony at 7:00 p.m. on the 24th.
