Basketball Recap: Youngker Comes Up Short

Youngker lost against Buckeye back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Youngker Roughriders fell to the Buckeye Hawks 74-68. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Thursday (55), the Roughriders still had to take the loss.

When it comes to explaining why Youngker lost, don't look at Ares Chambers. Despite the final result, he posted 21 points. The matchup was Chambers' fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of David Jonkor, who earned 12 points.

Youngker has been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last ten games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-11 record this season. As for Buckeye, the win snapped their losing streak at 12 games and leaves them with a 2-17 record.

Youngker didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 91-52 loss against Verrado on the 27th. As for Buckeye, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, an 80-59 defeat against Paradise Valley on the 27th.
