Softball Recap: Ashland Comes Up Short

After flying high against Fort Fairfield on Monday, Ashland came back down to earth. The Hornets came up short against the Central Aroostook Panthers on Wednesday, falling 12-5. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Panthers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 8-7 two weeks ago.

Ashland's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Central Aroostook, the win keeps they at an undefeated 6-0.

The future could be bright for both Ashland and Central Aroostook: their next opponents haven't had the best luck recently. The Hornets will try to hand Washburn their fifth-straight defeat when the two meet at 2:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Central Aroostook will look to extend Madawaska's four-game losing streak when they meet at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
