Recap: The Awty International Rams vs. St. John's Mavericks
The Awty International Rams pushed their score all the way to 62 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a hard 78-62 fall against St. John. The Awty International has not had much luck with St. John's recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
St. John's was led to victory by Teo Nelson and Malachi Booker. Nelson dropped a double-double on 19 points and 12 rebounds, while Booker scored 30 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Booker has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Izaan Mohammad, who scored 11 points.
The Awty International has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost six of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-10 record this season. As for St. John's, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 22-6.
The Awty International will head out on the road to challenge Kinkaid at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Kinkaid is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak. As for St. John's, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Houston HomeSchool at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Houston HomeSchool's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last six matchups.
