Baseball Game Preview: Carter Lions vs. Eisenhower Eagles

Carter has gone 8-2 against Eisenhower recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Lions will look to defend their home field against the Eagles at 3:45 p.m. Carter is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.8 runs per game this season.

Carter is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They blew past Arroyo Valley 19-1 on Thursday. The win continues a trend for the Lions in their matchups with the Hawks: they've now won three in a row.

Carter got a massive performance out of Enzo Reyes, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, two RBI, and one double. Those two hits gave Reyes a new career-high. Angel Acevedo was another key player, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with four runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Carter kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are a perfect 7-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Meanwhile, Eisenhower was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They took a 12-9 hit to the loss column at the hands of Grand Terrace.

Eisenhower got a big performance out of Daniel Mendez, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with three RBI and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Joshua Aguilar, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.

Carter now has a winning record of 13-12. As for Eisenhower, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-19.

Carter couldn't quite get it done against Eisenhower in their previous matchup back in April as they fell 6-3. Can the Lions avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
