Flag Football Recap: William & Reed Academy Piles Up the Points Against Holy Spirit Prep

William & Reed Academy had to skate by with only a one-point margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 28-point drubbing they dealt Holy Spirit Prep on Thursday. The Warriors claimed a resounding 28-0 win over the Cougars. The Warriors' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Gigi Darko was her usual excellent self, rushing for 120 yards and a pair of TDs on only eight carries. Emilie Dempsey was another key player, rushing for 50 yards and two touchdowns.

William & Reed Academy's victory bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Holy Spirit Prep, their loss dropped their record down to 0-11-1.

Coming up, Holy Spirit Prep is taking a road trip to challenge St. Mary's Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. William & Reed Academy will be paying especially close attention to the Cougars' game: after the Cougars face off against the Bobcats, they'll take on William & Reed Academy again at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
