Somerset Academy - Canyons took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Olympic Heights Lions as they made off with a 3-0 victory. That's more bragging rights for the Cougars, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Somerset Academy - Canyons never let Olympic Heights on the board, but things got pretty close in the second set. The final score came out to 25-12, 25-23, 25-18.

Carolyn Riseley had an outrageously good game as she had 16 digs and four aces. Taylor Snyder was another key player, getting 17 digs.

They weren't the only good server: Somerset Academy - Canyons was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 14 aces. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Olympic Heights only served seven aces.

Olympic Heights' loss came despite strong showings from Viviana DiTonno and Stella Catalano. DiTonno had seven digs and two aces, while Catalano had three digs and two aces.

Olympic Heights' defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Coming up, Somerset Academy - Canyons is headed away from home for the first time to face off against North Broward Prep at 6:00 p.m. on the 28th. As for Olympic Heights, they will host Oxbridge Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
