Baseball Recap: Mantachie Find Success

After low-scoring totals in their previous three contests, Mantachie brought some dynamite into their most recent matchup. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Shannon Red Raiders on Tuesday, sneaking past 10-9. That's more bragging rights for the Mustangs, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Colton Baxter and Hudson Trulove did most of the damage at the plate: Baxter got on base in all five of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, four RBI, and one run, while Trulove scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. Those two stolen bases gave Baxter a new career-high. Elijah Morgan also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

The victory got Mantachie back to even at 3-3. As for Shannon, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-3 record this season.

Mantachie will look to defend their home field on Friday against Shannon at 6:00 p.m. As for Shannon, they will face off against Ingomar at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
