Basketball Recap: Wayke Olsen's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Union over South Summit

Union's game on Wednesday was all tied up 32-32 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They fell 70-57 to the South Summit Wildcats. The loss continues a trend for the Cougars in their matchups with the Wildcats: they've now lost four in a row.

Union lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Wayke Olsen, who posted 12 points in addition to six steals and five rebounds. Those six steals gave Olsen a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Brady Bell, who went 5 for 9 on his way to 12 points and five boards.

It was another big night for Logan Woolstenhulme, who dropped a double-double on 29 points and 20 rebounds for South Summit. The contest was Woolstenhulme's 29th in a row with at least ten points. Blake Osguthorpe was another key player, putting up 15 points.

Union's defeat dropped their record down to 11-7. As for South Summit, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season.

Union wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 58-49 win against Grantsville on the 24th. South Summit has also already played their next contest, a 74-56 victory against Ben Lomond on the 24th.
