Recap: Okawville Rockets vs. Roxana Shells
The Okawville Rockets's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their sixth straight loss. They received a tough blow as they fell 48-30 to Roxana. Okawville was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Roxana apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January.
Roxana's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Chris Walleck, who scored 11 points along with three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Sean Maberry, who scored seven points along with six rebounds and five assists.
Okawville bumped their record down to 3-8 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Roxana, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 8-7.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Okawville will take on Red Bud at 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday. Red Bud presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Okawville in Illinois (Red Bud is ranked 176th, while Okawville is ranked 494th). As for Roxana, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Salem at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
