The Moapa Valley Pirates will face off against the Pahrump Valley Trojans at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Moapa Valley knows how to get runs on the board -- the team has finished with ten runs or more in their past four games -- so hopefully Pahrump Valley likes a good challenge.
The home team had come away the winner the last five times Moapa Valley and Sports Leadership & Management had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. Moapa Valley walked away with a 12-7 victory over Sports Leadership & Management on Wednesday. The win continues a trend for the Pirates in their matchups with the Bulls: they've now won seven in a row.

Garrett Hadley made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 4-for-5 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. Those four hits gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Lucas Pettingill was incredible, going 2-for-5 with one home run and four RBI. Another player making a difference was Tyson Pettingill, who scored four runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4.
Moapa Valley kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Pahrump Valley waltzed into their match on Wednesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 4-3 W against the Knights. While the Trojans didn't have the best season last year (they finished 15-19), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.
Sam Mendoza looked comfortable as he pitched 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Aidyn Cratty, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Tony Whitney, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.
Moapa Valley's victory bumped their record up to 6-4. As for Pahrump Valley, their win bumped their record up to 11-2-1.
