Basketball Recap: Pierce Comes Up Short

Pierce played a tough match on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They had to suffer through a 81-49 loss at the hands of the Norfolk Catholic Knights. The defeat continues a trend for the Bluejays in their matchups with the Knights: they've now lost four in a row.

Norfolk Catholic's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Gavin Schutt led the charge by going 6 for 11 on his way to 16 points and five assists. Max Hammond was another key player, going 6 of 11 en route to 16 points.

Pierce's loss dropped their record down to 4-9. As for Norfolk Catholic, they pushed their record up to 10-5 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.
