Baseball Game Preview: Goshen RedHawks vs. Fairfield Falcons

The Goshen RedHawks will head out to face off against the Fairfield Falcons at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.

Goshen is headed into the game having just suffered their closest loss since May 1, 2024 on Wednesday. They fell just short of NorthWood by a score of 4-2.

Goshen saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Braxton Cline, who went 1-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Fairfield entered their tilt with West Noble on Thursday with nine consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with ten. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Chargers a 6-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Falcons, who have now won seven matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Not much got past Logan Miller, who gave up just two hits to keep West Noble off the board. Miller has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Eli Miller was excellent, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and one RBI. Drew Beachy also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

Fairfield's win was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-6. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Goshen, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-11.

Goshen suffered a grim 15-7 defeat to Fairfield in their previous matchup back in March of 2024. Can the RedHawks avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
