Baseball Recap: Jellico Takes a Loss

Jellico was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 14th straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against the Sunbright Tigers, falling 17-6. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Tigers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 14-13 last Monday.

Jellico got a massive performance out of Mason Dople, who scored two runs and stole five bases while going 1-for-2. William Ivey also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Jellico's defeat dropped their record down to 0-13. As for Sunbright, their win ended an 11-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-12.

Coming up, Jellico will be playing at home against Lynn Camp at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Blue Devils are facing the Wildcats at the right time seeing as the Wildcats are stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Sunbright, they will square off against Oakdale at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Tigers will also cruise into their next contest with the timing on their side: the Eagles will have lost six straight heading into Thursday's matchup.
