Basketball Recap: North Comes Up Short

North was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 12th straight loss. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 68-64 heartbreaker at the hands of Carmen Northwest. While losing is never fun, the Blue Devils can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 421st, while Carmen Northwest are ranked 149th).

When it comes to explaining why North lost, don't look at Jamarion Martin. Despite the final result, he posted 22 points in addition to seven rebounds and four steals. Emmanuel Johnson also deserves some recognition as he posted his first assists of the season.

North's defeat dropped their record down to 1-12. As for Carmen Northwest, with the win, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 10-8.

North will take on Milwaukee Hamilton at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Carmen Northwest has already played their next match (against Sun Prairie West), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
