Baseball Recap: Alice Comes Up Short

Alice pushed their score to two the last time they played Corpus Christi Veterans Memorial, but on Monday they couldn't quite do it again. Alice fell just short of Corpus Christi Veterans Memorial by a score of 3-1. The Coyotes haven't had much luck with the Eagles recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Nick Lopez was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he pitched six innings while giving up four earned runs off five hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (four).

On the hitting side, Alice saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Landon Guerra, who went 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI. Robert Ramirez also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Alice now has a losing record of 10-11-1. As for Corpus Christi Veterans Memorial, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-2-1 record this season.
