Basketball Game Preview: Statesville Christian Lions vs. Lee Park Prep Knights

The Statesville Christian Lions will take on the Lee Park Prep Knights at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Lee Park Prep took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Statesville Christian, who comes in off a win.

Fans were treated to a battle of the Lions on Thursday. Statesville Christian breezed past Millers Creek Christian to the tune of 54-23. Statesville Christian pushed the score to 50-20 by the end of the third, a deficit Millers Creek Christian had little chance of recovering from.

Statesville Christian's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Madison Hall, who went 6-for-11 en route to 17 points. Those 17 points gave Hall a new career-high. Maty Swierad was another key player, putting up eight points and six steals.

Meanwhile, Lee Park Prep was beaten by Gaston Christian 71-16 on Friday.

Statesville Christian will have to keep a close watch on Viviana Nigro and Hannah Bagwell, a pair of players who had a big impact on Lee Park Prep's prior game. Nigro posted eight points, while Bagwell scored three points.

The win got Statesville Christian back to even at 1-1. As for Lee Park Prep, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.
