Volleyball Recap: Neuse Christian Academy Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Neuse Christian Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They lost 3-0 to the Thales Academy Apex Titans. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Titans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in August.

Neuse Christian Academy was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Thales Academy Apex work for it, especially in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 26-24, 25-23, 25-21.

Reagan Johnson paced Neuse Christian Academy's offense, picking up nine kills. Johnson got some help from Evonna Brown and her 14 assists. Sophie Colgan controlled things from the service line, finishing with six aces.

Thales Academy Apex's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Julia Sheng, who had 24 digs and two aces. That's the most digs Sheng has posted since back in August. The team also got some help courtesy of Ellie Hutchinson, who had 22 assists and four aces.

Neuse Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 5-10. As for Thales Academy Apex, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 7-7.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Neuse Christian Academy is set to take on their familiar foe Friendship Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Thales Academy Apex will square off against rival St. Thomas More Academy at 6:15 p.m. on Friday.
