Johnston is 9-1 against Urbandale since June of 2020 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Dragons will challenge the J-Hawks at 5:00 p.m. The last three games Johnston has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

On Thursday, Johnston sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-3 win over Dowling Catholic.

Meanwhile, Urbandale was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 6-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of Waukee.

Johnston pushed their record up to 8-6 with the victory, which was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Urbandale, they now have a losing record of 6-7.

Johnston was able to grind out a solid victory over Urbandale in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, winning 7-4. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Dragons since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
