Baseball Recap: Connellsville Falls to Kiski Area in First Game of Season

Connellsville unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They fell 6-1 to the Kiski Area Cavaliers on Monday. Surprisingly, this marked the fourth straight game that the away team has come away the victor.

Connellsville got a good showing from Ethan Porreca, who tossed two innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits.

At the plate, Connellsville saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jonathan Kelly, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one RBI.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Connellsville will face off against Belle Vernon at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Kiski Area, they will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Freeport at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
