Baseball Recap: Houston Academy Comes Up Short

Houston Academy lost against Headland back in February of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Houston Academy Raiders fell 9-6 to the Headland Rams. The Raiders have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Gabe Glover was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. He pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Glover was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3. He also hit a double, marking his first of the season.

Glover wasn't the only one making solid contact as six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Trey Bradley, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI.

Houston Academy's loss dropped their record down to 4-9. As for Headland, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-3 record this season.

Houston Academy will be playing in front of their home fans against Daleville at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Houston Academy is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.4 runs per game this season. As for Headland, they will head out on the road to face off against Dothan at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
