Chesnee gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Thursday. They came out on top against the Broome Centurions by a score of 3-1. This was payback for the Eagles, who suffered a 3-0 loss the last time these two teams met.

The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 29-27, 22-25, 25-22.

Chesnee's offense was headlined by Hayden Roberts and Payden Pitman, who picked up 16 kills apiece. They got some help from Abbie Olson and her 24 assists. Maggie Foy controlled things from the service line, finishing with seven aces.

Chesnee will be taking part in a tournament against Easley at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Broome, they will be defending their home court for the first time this season when they go up against James Island at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
