Basketball Recap: Archbishop Rummel's Higher State Rank on Full Display on Friday

Archbishop Rummel won the last time they faced Edna Karr and things went their way on Friday too. The Archbishop Rummel Raiders enjoyed a cozy 55-38 win over the Edna Karr Cougars. Given the Raiders' advantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 31st, while the Cougars are ranked 102nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Archbishop Rummel had a senior duo take command as TJ Duhe went 7-for-13 en route to 22 points and five assists and Jackson Cosentino went 6-for-10 to rack up 17 points. Thanks to that strong game, Duhe now owns an excellent 45.2% shooting accuracy.

Archbishop Rummel has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 17-10 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.5 points over those games. As for Edna Karr, they dropped their record down to 17-21 with the loss, which was their third straight at home.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Archbishop Rummel will welcome Jesuit at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Edna Karr, they will host Eleanor McMain at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
