Cannon County won the last time they faced Community and things went their way on Friday too. The Lions claimed a resounding 49-8 victory over the Vikings/Viqueens. The result was nothing new for the Lions, who have now won three contests by 31 points or more so far this season.

A big part of Cannon County's win came down to the chemistry between Eli Garrett and his top target Miles Alexander. Garrett threw for 266 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 12.7 yards per attempt while Alexander gained 181 total yards and three touchdowns.

Cannon County pushed their record up to 3-1 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. Those home wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 10.3 points on average over those games. As for Community, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Coming up, Cannon County will square off against Gordonsville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Tigers' defense has only allowed 12.5 points per game this season, so the Lions' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Community, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Richland at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
