Baseball Recap: Wiseburn- Da Vinci Find Success

The third road matchup was the charm for Wiseburn- Da Vinci, as they earned their first road win of the season. They walked away with a 12-9 win over the Carson Colts on Thursday. This was payback for the Wolves, who suffered a 6-1 loss the last time these two teams met.

Deklen Emmersen made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Emmersen was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.

In other batting news, James Mara was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Wiseburn- Da Vinci is undefeated when Mara posts two or more runs, but 1-2 otherwise. Nathaniel Barba was another key player, scoring three runs while going 2-for-2.

Wiseburn- Da Vinci kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Wiseburn- Da Vinci picked up their first road victory, bumping their record up to 4-2. As for Carson, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Looking ahead, Wiseburn- Da Vinci will head out to face off against Lawndale at 3:15 p.m. on March 6th. Wiseburn- Da Vinci is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 11.3 runs per game this season. As for Carson, they will be taking part in a tournament against South at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. South's pitching crew has only allowed 2.6 runs per game this season, so Carson's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
