Baseball Game Preview: Rutgers Prep Argonauts vs. St. Thomas Aquinas Trojans

The Rutgers Prep Argonauts will take on the St. Thomas Aquinas Trojans on Friday. Rutgers Prep's pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so St. Thomas Aquinas' hitters will have their work cut out for them.

On Saturday, Rutgers Prep needed a bit of extra time to put away Millburn. They walked away with a 7-4 win over the Millers. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Argonauts.

Rutgers Prep got a massive performance out of Maddox Chu, who got on base in all five of his plate appearances with four RBI and one double. That's the most RBI Chu has posted since back in April. Matt Bilmes was another key player, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Meanwhile, St. Thomas Aquinas suffered their biggest loss since April 3rd two weeks ago. They came up short against Edison, falling 9-1.

St. Thomas Aquinas' defeat ended a seven-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-6. As for Rutgers Prep, their victory bumped their record up to 14-9-1.

Rutgers Prep couldn't quite finish off St. Thomas Aquinas when the teams last played back in June of 2024 and fell 5-3. Can the Argonauts avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
