Football Recap: Holy Cross Crusaders vs. Irion County Hornets
Holy Cross's last matchup with Irion County could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's match on Friday. The Crusaders were dealt a 65-20 loss at the hands of the Hornets. The Crusaders lost against the Hornets in their previous head to head back in September of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 52-50 score last time.
Irion County's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Hagen Turman led the charge by rushing for 140 yards and four touchdowns on only ten carries. Those 140 rushing yards gave Turman a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kyle Olivan, who gained 127 total yards and three touchdowns.
Holy Cross now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Irion County, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.
