May River had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They put the hurt on the South Aiken Thoroughbreds with a sharp 3-0 victory on Monday. The win was nothing new for the Sharks as they're now sitting on eight straight.

While May River might've won, it sure wasn't easy: South Aiken scored at least 20 points in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-20, 25-23, 29-27.

May River found their leader in sophomore Emerson Skirtich, who had 13 digs. Skirtich has been hot recently, having posted ten or more digs the last four times she's played.

May River was lethal from the service line and finished the match with ten aces. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as South Aiken only served seven.

South Aiken's loss came despite strong showings from Kendall Doolittle and Dyllan Oerman. Doolittle had 15 digs and three aces, while Oerman had six digs and two assists.

May River's victory bumped their record up to 26-9. As for South Aiken, they moved to 23-11 with that loss, which also ended their seven-match winning streak.

May River wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-1 defeat against Gray Collegiate Academy on the 29th. South Aiken does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
