Football Game Preview: Lincoln Lions vs. Coventry Oakers + How To Watch

The Lincoln Lions will challenge the Coventry Oakers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Lincoln has given up an average of 34 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Lincoln is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Rhode Island's top teams: Johnston, who was ranked 20th at the time (Lincoln was ranked 23rd). The Lions took a 36-28 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Panthers on Friday. The Lions just can't catch a break and have now endured three losses in a row.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Coventry). They took down Mt. Pleasant 40-22 on Friday.

Coventry didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Wyatt Cardarelli and Maddon Quinn. Coventry received some extra help from Colin Richard, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.

Lincoln's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Coventry, their win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 2-3.
