Trego hadn't done well against Ellis recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Golden Eagles walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Railroaders. While the Golden Eagles didn't have the best season last year (they finished 10-23), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

While Trego might've won, it sure wasn't easy: Ellis scored at least 19 points in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-22, 16-25, 25-19, 25-21.

Trego found their leader in freshman Delana Brown, who had nine digs and one assist. Bailey Ziegler also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Trego was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 12 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in six consecutive contests.

Trego is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season. As for Ellis, they dropped their record down to 4-6 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Trego has already played their next match, a 2-0 win against Northern Valley on the 20th. As for Ellis, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 2-0 loss against Thomas More Prep-Marian on the 23rd.
