Game recap: Briar Woods High School Football Team takes down Heritage

MaxPreps WASHINGTON High School Football.

ASHBURN, Va. - A 38-point lead at the beginning of the fourth quarter didn't slow down Briar Woods (Ashburn, Va.) as it put 14 more points on the scoreboard to secure its victory over Heritage (Lynchburg, Va.) 52-0.

The Falcons were up 24-0 at the half after taking the lead on a safety in the first quarter.

Briar Woods expanded its lead to 38 points entering the fourth quarter. BW scored two times in the third, including once on a Chris Larco touchdown run.

The loss snapped the Pioneers' 5-game winning streak.



Cory Colder played well for the Ashburn school in the victory. The senior running back ran for two touchdowns and caught one touchdown. He has now scored 18 touchdowns on the season.

Heritage came in giving up 10.7 points per game this season. HHS struggled against the Falcons, which came in averaging 33.3 points per game. Briar Woods had given up an average of 7.5 points prior to the contest. The Lynchburg school's zero points were well below its season average of 31.7 per game.

The loss comes after Heritage defeated Salem 24-16 last week.
