Softball Game Preview: Needham Rockets vs. Lexington Minutemen

The Needham Rockets will face off against the Lexington Minutemen at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Needham will be strutting in after a win while Lexington will be coming in after a loss.

Last Friday, Needham got the win against Natick by a conclusive 12-1. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Rockets' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.

Meanwhile, Lexington didn't have quite enough to beat Reading Memorial on Thursday and fell 8-7.

Needham's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-1-1. As for Lexington, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 5-5.

Needham was able to grind out a solid win over Lexington in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, winning 7-4. Will the Rockets repeat their success, or do the Minutemen have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
