Basketball Recap: Gregory-Portland's Loss Ends Four-Game Winning Streak on the Road

After flying high against Ray last Friday, Gregory-Portland came back down to earth. The Gregory-Portland Wildcats took a 43-36 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Alice Coyotes on Tuesday. The Wildcats were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Coyotes earlier this season, when they won 66-52.

Several Wildcats players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Bella Davis, who posted 14 points along with five assists and four steals. Davis has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times she's played. Jayden Lara was another key player, putting up four points and six rebounds.

Gregory-Portland's defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 21-14. As for Alice, their victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 22-11.

Gregory-Portland will host Flour Bluff at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. Flour Bluff will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something Gregory-Portland surely won't give up without a fight. As for Alice, they will take on King at 6:15 p.m. on Friday.
