Basketball Recap: Celeste Comes Up Short

Celeste lost against Sam Rayburn back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Celeste Blue Devils came up short against the Sam Rayburn Rebels, falling 61-40. While losing is never fun, the Blue Devils can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1186th, while the Rebels are ranked 435th).

Celeste is on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 11-13. As for Sam Rayburn, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 14 of their last 16 games, which provided a nice bump to their 19-4 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Celeste has already played their next match (against Bland), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Sam Rayburn has also has no score uploaded for their next contest, this one against Wolfe City.
