Leonardtown skates past La Plata with ease

Recap: Leonardtown Raiders vs. La Plata Warriors

The Leonardtown Raiders entered their tilt with the La Plata Warriors with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. Leonardtown simply couldn't be stopped on Wednesday as they easily beat La Plata 54-15 at home. Leonardtown has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four games by 23 points or more this season.

Leonardtown found their leader in underclassman Eva Weller, who scored 18 points along with nine rebounds and two blocks. That's the first time this season that Weller scored 15 or more points. Vanessa Brooks was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with two steals.

Leonardtown's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-4. As for La Plata, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Leonardtown the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Westlake at 6:30 p.m. on January 19th. La Plata will take on Lackey at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Maryland (Lackey is ranked 208th, while La Plata is ranked 217th).
