Recap: Boulder Creek Jaguars vs. North Canyon Rattlers
The Boulder Creek Jaguars entered their tilt with the North Canyon Rattlers with five consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with six. Boulder Creek took down North Canyon 68-51 on Wednesday. Given Boulder Creek's advantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 18th, while North Canyon is ranked 149th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Andrew Bhesania, who dropped a double-double on 29 points and 12 rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which he has scored at least 25% of Boulder Creek's points. Another player making a difference was Brayden Newton, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds.
Despite the loss, North Canyon still got an impressive performance from Wyatt Mackay, who scored 34 points along with four steals. The contest was Mackay's eighth in a row with at least ten points.
Boulder Creek pushed their record up to 7-1 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 81.5 points per game. As for North Canyon, their loss dropped their record down to 4-4.
Boulder Creek will be home for the holidays to greet Perry at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. North Canyon won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Desert Mountain at 7:00 p.m. on December 14th. One thing working in Desert Mountain's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season.
