Basketball Recap: Woodbridge Takes a Loss

Woodbridge came into their game on Saturday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 72-51 to the Colonia Patriots. While losing is never fun, the Barrons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 174th, while the Patriots are ranked 23rd).

Woodbridge has also been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which has put a noticeable dent in their 9-9 record this season. As for Colonia, their win bumped their record up to 18-4.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Woodbridge will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Elizabeth on February 27th. Colonia will also get a bit of a break before their next game: they'll face off against Cranford on February 26th. One thing working in Colonia's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four contests.
