Softball Recap: Norfolk Christian Starts off Right with Win over Norfolk Academy

Norfolk Christian took care of business in their home opener (barely) on Thursday. They skirted past the Norfolk Academy Bulldogs 15-13. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Ambassadors also won the last time the pair played back in May of 2024.

Cambell White and Libbie Furlough did most of the damage at the plate: White scored three runs and stole Eight bases. while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances, while Furlough scored four runs and stole Five bases. while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. The dominant performance gave Furlough a new career-high in runs. Charlotte Mazzio was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in both of her plate appearances.

Norfolk Academy's loss ended a four-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 0-2.

Norfolk Christian has already played their next match, an 11-1 defeat against Peninsula Catholic on the 15th. As for Norfolk Academy, they will square off against Cox at 4:30 p.m. on March 21st.
