De La Salle Collegiate won the last time they faced Central Catholic and things went their way on Saturday too. The De La Salle Collegiate Pilots walked away with a 68-56 victory over the Central Catholic Fighting Irish. The win was all the more spectacular given the Pilots' disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 153rd in Michigan, while the Fighting Irish are ranked 44th in Ohio).

De La Salle Collegiate has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 6-14 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.5 points over those games. As for Central Catholic, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last eight contests, which has put a noticeable dent in their 10-8 record this season.

De La Salle Collegiate wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 65-54 defeat against University of Detroit Jesuit on the 11th. As for Central Catholic, they will venture away from home to take on St. Francis de Sales at 6:00 p.m. on February 17th. Central Catholic knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven matchups -- so hopefully St. Francis de Sales likes a good challenge.
